Beaver Island is thirteen miles long and six miles wide. It is the largest Island in Lake Michigan and the central island of the Beaver Island Archipelago. Beaver Island has a year `round population of 450. Located to the West is High Island, which has a spectacular central dune from which one can look over the entire island. Located to the North is Garden Island, which, like Beaver Island, has a protected harbor for overnight stays.
